My Love is…

My Love is…

We all love differently. We have had moments where we thought we had love, but were mistaken. Some of us differentiate between loving versus being in love. I can’t tell you how to love, or even define what love is. But I can tell you about my love. My love is not a box of chocolates nor is it a TV romance. It is work. It is exciting. It is routine. It is magical. I thought today, on V-day, I would share with you what my love looks like.

My Love is...
My love is missing you even though I just saw you five minutes ago.My love is making sure I have Honey Bunches of Oats stocked because I know you like it.
My love is being able to openly talking about my fears in life, without the fear that you will judge me.
My love is being able to speak about my work excitedly for about twenty minutes, knowing you have no idea what I’m talking about, but you smile attentively anyway.
My love is you making me laugh so hard that iced tea came out of my nose.
My love is allowing tears to roll down my face without feeling the need to wipe them off.
My love is trying to dance like Beyonce in front of you, even though I know I can’t pull it off.
My love is worth fighting for.
My love is showing my nerdy side and watching Xena warrior princess shamelessly (insert Xena war cry)
My love is me being a complete goofball around you.
My love is without limit.
My love is feeling proud whenever you accomplish something because it’s a victory for me too.
My love is fighting my urge to shut down when that’s what I want to do the most.
My love is feeling safe in your arms, with your words, and in your actions.
My love is forgiving you when you made me hurt, and trusting that you won’t make me feel that way again.
My love is sitting in silence, without the need to say anything at all.
My love is judgment free.
My love is not counting pennies.
My love is a little crazy, but I don’t care.
My love is trust.
My love is hugs, and kisses and “I love you’s” and gifts and more hugs.
My love is having those uncomfortable conversations because we have to.
My love is pushing you to be the best version of self.
My love is making myself a better person for you.
My love is heart flutters.
My love is being brutally honest because I know you need to hear it.
My love is unconditional.

To be clear, although a few of these are specific to my darling husband,
MANY of these apply to the love we have for our close friends & family.
WHAT IS YOUR LOVE?
